The application of steering gear in charging gun: make charging more convenient!

At present, most of the common charging guns on the market use the charging lock function of the strong press lock, which makes it laborious to insert and remove the charging gun each time, and it cannot realize the automatic unlocking of the small current, and it cannot be quickly pulled out when the gun needs to be pulled.

To solve this problem, a Norwegian company has designed a new solution, cleverly using the "steering engine" as a locking structure, rather than the mainstream electromagnetic lock.

What is a steering gear?

Steering gear, a miniature servo system commonly found in drones, robots and other equipment, can achieve angular action and state feedback. Here it is cleverly used in the design of the charging gun. By using the steering gear to control the latch, after receiving PWM signal feedback, the latch is automatically locked, thus maintaining the self-locking function at the same time, avoiding the insertion and removal difficulties caused by the traditional strong press lock mode.

Specifically, when the charging gun is inserted into the charging port, the steering gear begins to work to drive the locking mechanism to achieve the self-locking function. In this way, the charging gun can be kept stable without external force, and the charging interruption caused by accidental collision can be avoided. When the user needs to pull out the charging gun, just press the unlock button on the charging gun, and the steering engine will drive the locking mechanism to unlock, so that the charging gun can be easily pulled out of the charging mouth.

And the steering gear is small, easy to control, the current demand is not large, only need a simple signal can control the opening and closing, so the installation is very convenient. At the same time, it can still operate normally in the environment of minus 30 degrees, and there is no need to worry about the problem of congestion in cold areas, which has a high cost performance.
